H&M// The grey concept.

all pictures, courtesy of H&M

When I received the e-mail for this collection, The Grey Concept, I immediately thought I WANT IT ALL. This collection portrays the way I want to dress at this moment and all of these pieces can add a certain edge to your wardrobe. I really like the oversized tops and skinny jeans, and a leather jacket is a must, so I think even though you're not your typical rock chick, you can still find pieces that will fit perfectly with your own style.

They ony sell the collection in certain H&M stores, so be sure to check out the website for more details.

Aaaargh, I won't be able to get there this week, damn, I hope it doesn't sell out very quick...

DIY: studded denim shorts.

It's mid-season sale once again and as I work in a clothes shop, we are participating as well. And so the story of the studded short begins, as somewhere between those bargains I found this pair of dark denim jeans. I didn't like the cut, as they were far from skinny and more like a flare cut. But they were only ten euro's, so I just bought them and started thinking what I should do with them.
So that evening I cut off the legs and turned them into shorts, but I felt something was missing, so I looked between my sewing gear and suddenly remembered I bought a whole lot of studs in Veritas and thought they would look very lovely.

I think a lot of people already know how to apply studs, but I thought it would be nice to feature this DIY, cause maybe there are some people out there who have no clue how to begin, and trust me it's so easy!!

I. What do you need: a pair of shorts (or a denim jacket, or all stars, or a denim shirt, the combinations are endless), scissors, and off course loads of studs!

II. Think of the pattern you would like to apply, you can try it out first by just pushing them into the fabric and not close the little legs on them yet.

III. Press the little stud in place and push the legs down with the tip of the scissors.

IV. Tadaaaah! All finished.

I'm using a lot of studs at the moment, they are just so inspiring, can't get enough!

Note: went by the Annelies Timmermans store today and had a little chat about the bag I wanted to buy (the one featured in the Wishlist post) and found out she read my blog post, I was like "whiiiiiiiiiii". She was so friendly and sweet and said it was no problem to think about a bit longer cause it's a big step. Currently she's having a stocksale, so be sure to check it out! Wishlist fall.

coat, trousers - Pull&Bear; sweater - She Inside; bag - Annelies Timmermans, loafers - Chloe; necklace - Romwe

Yes, I think fall is upon us, cause it's only eight o'clock in the evening and it's already pitch black outside...  I really don't like that though, but hey every season has its ups and downs. What I do like is the endless combinations you can make with the clothes, I love to layer and fall definitely is the best season to test it.

These items above have made the top of my wishlist, although the bag and the loafers are slightly out of my price range. I discovered the bag through Laura's blog, as she wrote a post about Annelies Timmermans. It's been stuck in my head ever since, I might consider buying it, just go crazy for once and I'm sure the bag will last me a lifetime! And I think the coat will be hanging on my clothing rail very soon too, as it has everything I want from a coat.
I'd love to wear all of these together, I think it'll made a lovely outfit.

What's your number one on your fall wishlist?!

Note: for the Belgians and the Dutch: I stepped into Action (the store that has about everything) today and saw all sorts of lovely t-shirts, with prints from the Beatles (Abbey Road), James Dean, Jim Morrison and such, they are only four euro's and look very nice, so if you happen to love shirts like that, be sure to check it out!

How to display your vinyl collection.

Over the years I've collected quite a few vinyl records. My dad has this vinyl player in his work room and whenever I have the time I go up there and listen to them (the sound is so lovely!). I noticed that they were just standing there in my room, all piled up and I thought there must be a way to properly store them. I was thinking about an old wine crate or a wooden box, but then I came across this little beauty in the thrift store. Love at first sight, it most definitely was! And it was only four euro's, which makes it even better.

At first I was a bit afraid that my vinyls wouldn't fit, but hey, it's the perfect fit. Couldn't have done it any better. I just love it when you find things in the thrift store that you've been looking for and just couldn't quite grasp what it would be like.

I've also found a flanel shirt, a floral skirt, a military styled jacket and some boots. The flanel shirt is in the wash right now, but it'll appear on the blog when it gets a bit colder. The skirt needs some alterations too, but tomorrow I have a day off work, so it's time to alter and sew some clothes; the pile was getting too big!

Anyone found some treasures in the thrift store too lately?

Note: I started knitting. I bought myself a "start to knit" book, some wool and just gave it a go, currently in the beginner phase, we'll see how it goes!

Another note: You should give Jake Bugg a listen. Man, that boy is talented!! Think The Beatles, Dylan and such.  Here's a lovely video.

House of Fraser

A couple of days ago I was browsing the House of Fraser website and off course I went straight to the dress collection and I was quite surprised to find out how many lovely dresses they offer. I hadn't actually heard of it, but I recently got notified with an e-mail and I'm sure glad they did.

I decided it would be nice to portray some of the dresses by House of Fraser I liked and how I would wear them. As summer is coming up (I do hope so, cause the weather has been dreadful lately, cross your fingers dears) I chose the floral theme and you all know now that I'm addicted with florals.

The first collage is more ladylike and perfect for those hot floral days. To complete the look you can wear sandals or loafers and if it gets a bit colder a crochet cream vest or a short denim jacket.

The second collage is more festival themed. I toughened the look a bit with denim details, and you can add some boots and even a leather jacket.

I love these both looks equally, but it's just to showcase the fact you can go both ways with a floral dress, cute or a bit tougher. And one more tip, if the floral print is very busy, tone down the accessories, to make sure it doesn't go over the top!

Be sure to check out the website, cause they tons more of these dresses, it took me ages to choose just these.

Love!
